14-year-old drowns while saving sister

A 14-year-old girl in the Epupa Conservancy in the northern part of the Kunene Region drowned in a water pond at Okakumangua Village, Etanga area, while trying to rescue her 13-year-old sister who was drowning after she jumped into the pond to swim.

According to the weekend crime report compiled by the Namibian Police spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi the incident took place on Friday at about 15h00.

Meanwhile, it is alleged that Ndapanda Inamutuhala, a 63-year-old Namibian female pensioner, drowned in a water canal in Ombathi village, Ogongo Constituency, Omusati region, earlier on the same day at around 07h50.

In a separate incident last Friday around 19h00 at Okongo, another pensioner, Haunawa Martin, died at his home after complaining of stomach pain.

On Saturday, 20 August 2022 at about 15h00, at Katelohang location, Destiny Mugonda, a two months old toddler, died at home after she allegedly fall sick in the morning.

No foul play is suspected.
