FNB Namibia has appointed Carpio Minnaar as head of operations. With more than 15 years of experience in business optimisation, operations leadership, and regulatory compliance, Minnaar brings expertise from the banking, ICT and telecommunications sectors.
He has held senior and executive roles at Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC), Nedbank Namibia, and MTN Business Solutions. Known for aligning operations with business goals, Minnaar’s leadership will strengthen FNB Namibia Retail’s operational efficiency and service delivery.
As head of operations, he will provide strategic and tactical direction while overseeing the management of the retail segment’s operations. His focus areas include improving efficiency, ensuring data accuracy, managing risk, supporting product development, ensuring compliance, and enhancing both customer and employee experiences.
“FNB Namibia is at an exciting time in its growth journey. I look forward to leveraging my industry experience to help drive operational excellence and support the bank’s commitment to delivering inclusive and customer-centric financial solutions,” he said.
Minnaar holds a BCom Law degree and a Higher Certificate in Project Management from STADIO Higher Education, a Certificate in Banking from UNISA, and an IT Management Certificate from the University of Cape Town. He also completed a Compliance Certificate and a Certificate in Telecommunications Policy, Regulation, and Management from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Meanwhile, FNB Namibia has appointed Ziggy Muinjo as investment head. Muinjo is an investment professional with more than a decade of experience in Namibia’s financial sector. He has held senior roles at the Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF), Rand Merchant Bank (RMB Namibia), and the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA Fund).
Before joining FNB Namibia, he served as manager of treasury and investments at the MVA Fund and GIPF, where he managed fixed-income and equity portfolios, supported Namibia Stock Exchange listings, and assessed infrastructure investments. He also gained experience in liquidity management and funding within the FirstRand Group’s RMB division.
In his new role, Muinjo will develop and implement retail investment strategies, design client-focused investment products, and oversee pricing structures that support sustainable deposit growth.

Muinjo holds a bachelor’s degree in financial economics and banking from the University of Tizi-Ouzou in Algeria and an honours degree in economics from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). He is also a Certified Market Professional with an ACI Diploma CMP from the ACI Financial Markets Association in France and is an alumnus of the Global Leaders Programme at GIBS Business School, University of Pretoria.
