The O&L Group says it remains confident in the recovery of businesses facing challenges, including Kraatz, Hangana Seafood and Hangana Abalone. The group says its strength lies in resilience and a clear long-term vision.
“While each of our businesses looks different, our vision remains the same, and that is what it’s all about: a celebration of the authentic, caring and passionate businesses, leaders and teams behind the success of O&L,” chief experience officer Franziska Rüeck said. “Let us continue to build on this momentum as we step confidently into the next phase of our Vision 2029.”
Founded in 1919, the Ohlthaver & List Group is one of Namibia’s largest privately held business enterprises. Its operations span hospitality, real estate, beverages and retail.
The group recently hosted its annual Arabian Nights, themed Persona Awards at Midgard, recognising business performance and leadership across its operating companies for the 2025 financial year. The event honoured teams and leaders who reflect the O&L Persona values of being authentic, caring and passionate, qualities that guide the group’s journey toward Vision 2029.
“The O&L Persona Awards is one of those special moments where we can all sit back, reflect and take pride in what we have achieved together,” said Rüeck.
“All of us are part of a story that is much bigger than any individual achievement. It is the story of a group that continues to evolve, to lead and to dream boldly.”
Looking back on a year of major shifts within the group, Rüeck praised employees for their ability to adapt during structural and strategic changes.
“Over the past year, we went through a lot of changes, and some of them were quite bold ones. Through it all, I am really proud of each of our companies and our employees because, despite the changes, we remained resilient, adapted and achieved significant milestones.”
For the first time, Broll and O&L Leisure shared the Overall Best Performing Companies award after earning identical scores in the evaluation process.
The trophy will be displayed at Broll for six months before moving to O&L Leisure.
Rüeck also highlighted key achievements across the group. She noted Model’s retail transformation, Hartlief’s 22.6% turnover increase in October and O&L Leisure’s focus on “Namibia Through Our Eyes”.
She commended Broll for record-breaking Great Place to Work results and praised Mach 10’s first year in pushing O&L forward in IT innovation.
