The board of Deep Yellow Limited has appointed Greg Field as managing director and chief executive officer, with his tenure set to begin no later than 1 May 2026.

His appointment follows a global search guided by the company’s leadership transition plan.

The board focused on securing a leader with strong execution skills, a proven record in delivering capital projects and experience in the regions where the company operates.

Field is a qualified mining engineer and previously served as managing director for project development at Rio Tinto.

He has worked in the resources sector for 29 years, gaining experience across operations and project studies.

He has executed major brownfield and greenfield developments, including the US$7 billion Oyu Tolgoi underground project, the US$400 million Rincon DLE plant in Argentina and the US$1.3 billion AP60 Aluminium smelter in Quebec.

Field began his career in South Africa and is familiar with Namibia, one of Deep Yellow’s key operating regions.

He has lived and worked in Western Australia and has experience in South Africa, Australia, Mongolia, the United States, Canada and Argentina.

“I believe uranium has a key role to play in the global transition to clean energy, and Deep Yellow is uniquely positioned to contribute to that shift,” he said. He added that he is aligned with the company’s strategy and will focus on advancing work on the Tumas Project.

On 13 November, Deep Yellow announced the appointment of Zebra Kasete as managing director for Namibia, effective 5 January 2026.

Kasete will report to the CEO and support the construction of the Tumas Project. He will run the Namibian operations once construction is complete and will serve as the company’s country head, based in Swakopmund.

Kasete is a Namibian mining executive with more than 35 years of experience in uranium, diamonds, copper and gold. His most recent position was Executive Vice President of Sinomine Tsumeb Smelter Pty Ltd, formerly Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb.

He previously served as managing director of Murowa Diamond Private Limited in Zimbabwe. Before that, he spent 25 years at Rio Tinto, beginning as a cadet metallurgist at Rössing Uranium.

During that period, he held senior roles in operations, technical, procurement, human resources, business development and external relations across Namibia, Zimbabwe, Australia and the USA.
