Paratus Namibia Holdings increased its capital expenditure to N$471.3 million for the financial year ending 30 June 2025, more than doubling the N$216.1 million spent in 2024.
The company marked its 20th anniversary during a year defined by investment and operational expansion.
Paratus executive of finance, Naomi Fourie, said the spending focused on the expansion project as the group prepared to launch its mobile business in September 2025.
She said substantial resources went into equipment, site builds and the digital software stack needed to support operations. The mobile project is designed to enable SIM card users to access voice services.
The new digital software system for operating and billing support will be implemented in the 2026 financial year as part of the full mobile roll-out.
In February, Paratus Namibia faced a cyberattack targeting its information technology systems and databases.
The company responded by strengthening its IT infrastructure and adding advanced cybersecurity measures.
The group’s operating profit dropped by 41.36% to N$66.1 million. Fourie said the decline was driven by operating costs linked to the development of the mobile business and the expansion of the group’s infrastructure needed for the project.
Paratus Namibia, a key subsidiary, recorded a 15.8% rise in total revenue, increasing from N$558.1 million in 2024 to N$646.4 million in 2025. Recurring revenue made up 89.2% of total revenue. The company also secured several non-recurring contracts linked to large tenders and once off infrastructure installations. Growth in recurring revenue came from services sold on the Equiano Subsea Cable, high occupancy at the Armada Data Center and improvements to consumer products such as fibre, LTE, VSAT and Sky-Fi. Revenue from the mobile project reached N$12.8 million.
Paratus Namibia’s EBITDA fell by 7.6%, dropping from N$223.9 million in 2024 to N$207 million. Operating profit fell from N$110.2 million to N$69.1 million, a 37.3% decline. Fourie attributed the decrease directly to the recognition of mobile business costs during the year.
The group continued to expand its infrastructure footprint across Namibia. It invested N$149 million in capacity expansion across fibre, customer access and LTE networks, up from N$111 million spent in 2024.
