Standard Bank Namibia has introduced a new pricing strategy that came into effect on 1 January 2026. The changes aim to reduce everyday banking costs and expand access to digital and bundled banking services for individuals and businesses.
The bank said the revised pricing includes lower fees on selected daily transactions, more free services, and four bundled account options designed for different income and lifestyle needs. The strategy also places stronger focus on digital banking and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
According to the bank, customers will benefit from reduced fees on digital transactions, lower electronic funds transfer charges, free inter-account transfers, and free point-of-sale purchases for Basic Bank Account holders, senior citizens and customers using bundled accounts.
Standard Bank Namibia said the new bundled accounts combine banking services with added benefits at a single monthly fee. The aim is to make costs easier to understand and improve overall value for customers.
Head of personal and private banking Karen van der Merwe said the pricing changes are meant to lower banking costs while offering more value.
“Our 2026 pricing is designed to ease the cost of banking while adding meaningful value through lower fees, simpler bundles and more free services,” van der Merwe said.
The pricing update also includes changes for SMEs. The bank has reduced transaction costs to assist entrepreneurs and enhance their access to banking and growth solutions.
Head of business and commercial banking Hellen Amupolo said the changes are intended to help small businesses grow and contribute to the wider economy.
“Reduced transaction costs and simpler solutions strengthen financial visibility, improve bankability and support business growth,” Amupolo said.
Standard Bank Namibia said the pricing changes were part of a broader plan to promote financial inclusion, increase the use of digital banking channels and support sustainable economic growth in Namibia.
