Zaria Court Kigali has officially opened under Tapestry Collection by Hilton, marking a new chapter for Rwanda’s first urban lifestyle hotel and strengthening the country’s presence in the global hospitality market.

The 80-room hotel, located in Kigali Sports City, now operates as part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection. The portfolio features independent hotels with distinct design and local character, supported by Hilton’s global standards and the Hilton Honours programme.

Zaria Court Kigali sits next to major sports and entertainment venues, including the BK Arena and Amahoro Stadium. The hotel forms part of a mixed-use development with retail, event, and recreational spaces, positioning it as a base for business, leisure, sports, and cultural travel.

The property blends contemporary design with locally inspired interiors and Rwandan craftsmanship. Guests have access to Hilton services such as Digital Key, direct booking benefits, and the ability to earn and redeem Hilton Honors points.

Masai Ujiri, founder of Zaria Group, said the partnership marks a milestone in presenting African hospitality on a global stage while keeping a strong local identity. He said the hotel’s roots in African excellence and community will remain central under the Hilton brand.

Hilton’s president for the Middle East and Africa, Guy Hutchinson, said the opening marks Hilton’s entry into the Rwanda market and aligns with the group’s plans to expand across Africa. He said Zaria Court Kigali reflects the Tapestry Collection’s focus on culturally connected, lifestyle-led hotels.

The hotel offers a rooftop lounge overlooking Kigali Sports City, a sports bar with multiple large screens, an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby bar, and a pool bar beside a multipurpose court. Other facilities include a heated pool and meeting and event spaces that can host up to 60 guests in theatre-style seating, with nearby areas for cocktail receptions of up to 120 people.

Zaria Court Kigali has incorporated sustainability into its design and operations. The property has earned EDGE certification for eco-friendly construction and energy efficiency. Locally produced artwork and contemporary African art feature throughout the hotel.

The opening comes as Rwanda continues to draw attention as a destination for business, leisure, and sports tourism. Investment in sports and entertainment infrastructure, especially in Kigali Sports City, has supported this growth.

With its integration into Hilton’s portfolio, Zaria Court Kigali is expected to attract a broader international market, including business travellers, sports teams, leisure visitors, and event guests, while supporting Rwanda’s wider tourism and investment goals.
