Cashbuild Limited reported a 1% increase in group revenue in the second quarter of the 2026 financial year.
The growth was supported by new stores and the inclusion of Amper Alles, a subsidiary in which the group acquired a 60% controlling interest with effect from 1 December 2025.
In a voluntary operational update released this week, Cashbuild said the increase came despite a 2% decline in revenue from its 309 existing stores.
The group’s 15 new stores contributed 3% growth during the quarter.
For the half year ended 28 December 2025, group revenue rose by 3% compared to the previous half year ended 29 December 2024.
Transaction volumes increased by 2% in the second quarter and by 4% over the half year. Transactions at existing stores fell by 1% during the quarter, while new stores contributed 3% growth. Selling inflation stood at 0.8% at the end of December 2025.
Cashbuild South Africa accounted for 83% of total group sales.
Revenue in this segment grew by 1% in the second quarter and by 4% over the half year.
Revenue from existing South African stores declined by 1% during the quarter, while new stores contributed 2% growth.
The Common Monetary Areas segment contributed 6% of total sales. Revenue in this segment was flat in the second quarter, with half-year growth of 4%.
Cashbuild Other operations, which include Botswana and Malawi, recorded a 7% decline in revenue in the second quarter but achieved 5% growth over the half year.
Other segments, including P&L Hardware and Amper Alles, accounted for 7% of total sales in the second quarter. Revenue in these segments grew by 3%, supported by a 13% contribution from new stores, while revenue from existing stores declined by 10%.
During the second quarter, the group opened one new store, refurbished seven stores, relocated one store and closed one underperforming outlet.
Over the half year, four new stores were opened, eight were refurbished, one was relocated and one was closed.
Cashbuild also procured three Amper Alles stores and divested its stake in its Malawi operations, which included two stores. At the end of the half year, the group operated a total of 322 stores.
The group said the information in the operational update has not been reviewed or reported on by its auditors.
