NSX overall index gains 2.35% for the week

The Namibia Securities Exchange (NSX) recorded gains across most indices for the week of 16–20 February 2026, with the Overall Index rising 2.35% to close at 2 360.07 points.

The index gained 54.17 points from 2,305.90 the previous week. Since December 2025, it has increased 10.21% from 2 141.33. It is trading just below its 2026 high of 2 366.23. The year’s low stands at 2 154.64. The dividend yield is 3.38%.

The Local Index edged up 0.07% to 814.96 points, gaining 0.55 points from 814.41 a week earlier. Since December 2025, the index has risen 0.89%. It is close to its 2026 high of 815.20. The local market offers a dividend yield of 8.50%.

On the regional front, the JSE All Share Index closed at 123 022.03 points, up 2.02% from 120,584.00 the previous week. Since December 2025, it has gained 6.21%. The index has traded between a 2026 high of 125 249.00 and a low of 116 092.00.

Financials led sector gains on the NSX, rising 2.56% to 770.88 points from 751.67. Since December 2025, the sector has advanced 8.02%. It is trading near its 2026 high of 776.29. The dividend yield is 5.07%.

Basic materials increased 2.34% to 828.94 points from 809.97. Since December 2025, the sector has climbed 15.86% from 715.47, making it the strongest performer over the period. It has traded between 840.01 and 723.60 this year. The dividend yield is 0.72%.

Real estate rose 1.61% to 2,772.46 points, up 43.96 points week-on-week. The sector is 2.66% higher than its December 2025 level of 2,700.75. It remains below its 2026 high of 2 808.33. The dividend yield stands at 5.46%.

Consumer discretionary gained 0.85% to 2 674.06 points. The sector remains 0.33% below its December 2025 level of 2 682.89. It has traded between 2 887.00 and 2 627.48 this year. The dividend yield is 8.58%.

Consumer Staples increased 0.78% to 1 321.06 points. It is 0.16% above its December 2025 level. The sector has traded between 1 344.93 and 1 278.30 this year. The dividend yield is 3.21%.

Telecommunications recorded a marginal gain of 0.09% to 301.93 points. It is up 0.83% since December 2025. The dividend yield stands at 10.15%.

Utilities closed unchanged at 1 107.49 points. The sector has shown no movement since December 2025 and has traded in a narrow range between 1 108.32 and 1 106.73 this year.
