SNC Incorporated has been named Namibia’s National Law Firm of the Year at the IFLR Africa Legal Awards 2026, while its managing partner, Shakwa Nyambe, was awarded Lawyer of the Year for Namibia.
The awards were held in Cape Town on Wednesday. They recognise legal work linked to major deals across Africa.
SNC Incorporated was recognised for advising on corporate and energy matters. Judges noted the firm’s role in cross-border transactions in Namibia’s commercial, energy, and oil and gas sectors.
The firm has been involved in transactions linked to investment in the country.
Its work has also supported developments in Namibia’s legal and regulatory space.
“We are proud to receive this award,” said Nyambe. “It is deeply rewarding to see our work recognised at this level. Much of what we do happens behind the scenes, solving difficult problems and standing with our clients when decisions carry real weight. I am proud of the discipline and care our team brings to that responsibility every day.”
He said client trust has played a role in the firm’s work.
Nyambe was also recognised for his work as a corporate and energy lawyer. Judges pointed to his experience in handling complex transactions in Namibia’s natural resources and capital markets sectors.
“It is truly encouraging to be honoured by the IFLR. What makes this meaningful is the continued trust our clients place in my judgement on matters that are often complex and commercially significant,” he said. “I am equally grateful to my colleagues, whose teamwork and professionalism make it possible to deliver work we are proud of.”
Nyambe has more than two decades of experience. He has advised investors, oil companies, and government-linked entities on regulatory matters, licensing, and deal structuring.
His work has grown in importance as Namibia attracts interest in offshore oil discoveries. He has been involved in transactions linked to energy and resource development.
He has also worked on mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and corporate structuring.
SNC Incorporated focuses on energy, natural resources, and commercial law. The firm has built a client base that includes both local and international companies.
Nyambe also contributes to work on regulatory frameworks and investment structures in the energy sector.
He has been ranked by the international legal body IFLR1000 and holds roles linked to global legal and energy organisations.
The awards recognise firms and lawyers working in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, finance, and energy projects.
