Bank Windhoek has recognised top dealer partners at the Northern Selekt Sales Awards held in Oshakati.
The event honoured dealerships and sales professionals for their performance in 2025.
The awards highlight the bank’s focus on partnerships in the motoring sector and support for vehicle finance.
Regional manager for the far north, Mire Christof, said Namibia recorded 14 494 vehicle sales in 2025, the highest since 2015.
She said the trend continued into 2026, with 1 005 units sold in January, the strongest January since 2016 and a 4% increase from a year earlier.
She said demand remains strong in northern Namibia for pickup trucks, SUVs and commercial vehicles used in farming, transport, construction and cross-border trade.
“More small businesses are taking vehicle finance to grow their operations and create jobs, and customers also want faster, easier service through digital finance tools,” said Christof.
She said affordability improved after the Bank of Namibia lowered the repo rate to 6.5% in late 2025 and kept it at that level into early 2026.
She said Bank Windhoek maintained a strong market position with support from dealers.
Indongo Toyota Ongwediva won Gold for Overall Dealership of the Year. Pupkewitz Toyota Oshakati received Silver, while Pupkewitz Volkswagen North took Bronze.
In the Top Salesperson category, Nikanor Shindombo received gold, Hendrik Johannes took silver and Elvis Kautjituavi received bronze.
“In the north, vehicles are not only a convenience; they are productive assets. As an industry, we must meet rising expectations for convenience, transparency and speed, while keeping growth responsible and grounded in affordability,” said Christof.
