Erasmus Shalihaxwe The Namibian Junior National Table Tennis Competition, sponsored by Phoenix Insurance Namibia, concluded over the weekend and featured strong performances by young athletes.  The event also served as preparation for the African Union Sport Council Region 5 (AUSC) Youth Games, set for next month.  In the Under-19 boys’ quarter-finals, Kamrouz Ghayouri defeated Kevin Zhang, while Agape Chicalu narrowly beat newcomer Fillemon Ikanda.  Caden Bosman dominated the under-19 boys’ category to claim the title. Erasmus Shalihaxwe Brave Warriors head coach Collin Benjamin says group B of the Cosafa Cup is still wide open, and his team will do everything to secure maximum points against Lesotho to move to the next round of the tournament. Nakathila defends USA performance despite defeat

Erasmus Shalihaxwe Namibian boxer Jeremiah Nakathila says he is proud of the work he has done in the United States, despite losing to American boxer Abdullah Mason by a fifth-round technical knockout on Sunday. Nakathila (35) suffered a deep cut above his left eye during the fight.  The injury blurred his vision, and the referee stopped the bout.  The fight took place in the United States and was Nakathila’s fifth match there.  He has now lost four of those fights, winning only once against Miguel Berchelt in March 2022. Erasmus Shalihaxwe Namibia Swimming Federation (Nasfed) president Riaan Steyn has cautioned the public and media against over-hyping athletes who participated in the swimming competition for Angola's 50th independence celebration held in Luanda last weekend. Namibia's team performance was seen as exceptional, finishing with the most gold medals and being declared the overall winners of the competition.  They collected 22 gold, 10 silver, and five bronze medals. Justicia Shipena  Nine-year-old Frederick Cronje went undefeated at the 2025 African Schools Individual Chess Championship held in Mombasa, Kenya, from 22 to 29 May. Team Namibia bags 22 medals at Angolan swim meet

Erasmus Shalihaxwe Team Namibia won the Angolan Independence Celebration Swimming Competition held over the weekend.  Namibian swimmers topped the medal chart with 22 medals. Angola followed with 19 medals, while South Africa placed third with nine.  Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda, a selected Angolan team, earned five medals and took fourth place.  Selecao de Portugal came fifth with four medals, and Selecao de Mozambique finished last with two. Erasmus Shalihaxwe Senior national football head coach Collin Benjamin has announced the final Brave Warriors squad for the upcoming Council of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA) tournament in South Africa.  The tournament will run from 4 to 15 June.  Namibia is in Group B with Angola, Malawi, and Lesotho.  Namibia’s first match is on Thursday against Angola, followed by a game against Malawi on Sunday and the final group match against Lesotho next Tuesday.
