Erasmus Shalihaxwe Head coach Errol Damaseb has announced Namibia’s final squad for the upcoming COSAFA Under-17 Girls Championship.  The tournament will take place in Windhoek from 10 to 16 May at the Hage Geingob Stadium. Namibia is in Group A alongside Malawi and the Comoros.  The team will open the tournament against Malawi on Saturday at 15:00. Entrance to the stadium will be free for the public. Erasmus Shalihaxwe Team Namibia won nine medals at the Africa Aquatics Junior Championships at the Cairo Stadium in Egypt.  The four-day youth event concluded this past weekend. Namibian swimmers Oliver Durand and Lorenzo Esterhuizen reached the 400m Individual Medley finals. Durand, 18, broke the Africa Aquatics record with a time of 4:26.00. Esterhuizen, 16, finished sixth in the same race with a time of 4:48.68. The Namibia Aquatic Sports Federation said the event brought "cool winds and even cooler performances" from the team. Erasmus Shalihaxwe Namibian swimmers began day one of the African Aquatics Junior Swimming Championship in Cairo with mixed results. The four-day competition, which started on Wednesday, brings together swimmers from 44 African countries. The event serves as a platform for young athletes to improve their personal times and prepare for the Junior World Championships in Romania in July, as well as meets scheduled for later this year in Nigeria and Senegal. Hertta- Maria Amutenja  Namibia’s Rebekka Goagoses has been appointed acting president of Africa Netball, following the provisional suspension of president Cecilia Molokwane.  Goagoses, who stepped down as Netball Namibia’s President recently, serves as vice president for development on the continental executive board, and was unanimously selected during a special board meeting held on 22 April. The kits were sourced from local manufacturer 90 Minutes and unveiled at the Namibia Football Association’s (NFA) headquarters in Windhoek on Wednesday.
