Andrew Kathindi Landless People’s Movement (LPM) leader, Bernardus Swartbooi, has claimed discrepancies in the number of ballot papers printed ahead of tomorrow’s regional and local authority elections. Andrew Kathindi Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) councilor, Ignatius Semba’s case against City Police Chief Abraham Kanime has been settled at court, and his application withdrawn, bringing to an end the saga that has divided the city council since the beginning of the year. Kanime was reinstated as the City Police chief in February, with an annual salary package of nearly N$2,5 million, after he had resigned earlier. Staff Writer U.S. Ambassador Lisa Johnson officially launched the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program in Namibia. The program was established in 2019 and provides women with the tools needed to create and grow their own businesses, raise capital, and effectively network with other successful business owners. The first cohort for 2020 will consist of 28 participants from Windhoek who will receive the training virtually, due to the COVID pandemic.
