Chevron has appointed Beatrice Bienvenu as country manager to lead its exploration activities in Namibia and West Africa.
Bienvenu recently visited Windhoek in her new role and met with leaders from the Upstream Petroleum Unit in the presidency, the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor), the Petroleum Training and Education Fund (Petrofund), the US Embassy, and other institutions.
“It was a privilege to travel to Namibia as Chevron’s new Country Manager to meet our key stakeholders,” Bienvenu said.
“It was an honour for me to share our positive experience in Namibia and highlight some of the factors that make the country attractive for investment. We see exploration and future development of energy resources as a pathway to prosperity for Namibia. I’m excited to continue our partnership for many years to come.”
Before this appointment, Bienvenu was manager for Chevron’s pipeline and power control centre in Houston, overseeing the safe and reliable remote operations of the company’s U.S. federally regulated pipelines.
She has also served as an advisor for Chevron’s International Exploration division, supporting exploration strategy, portfolio optimisation, business planning, activity execution tracking, and financial reporting.
For almost three years, she was chief of staff for Chevron’s government affairs office in Washington, DC.
Since joining Chevron in 2010, Bienvenu has worked as a seismic specialist, drilled offshore exploration wells, and appraised discovered resources to assess commerciality.
She holds a BS in electrical engineering with a minor in management science and an MS in geophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
