Clicks Group says its ClubCard members, including those in Namibia, earned N$527 million in cashback over the six months to 28 February 2026.

The group reported this in its unaudited interim results.

Active ClubCard membership grew by 800 000 to 12.9 million. Members contributed 83.7% of total sales.

During the period, the group opened its 1000th store, bringing the total to 1003 outlets. Its pharmacy network increased to 795 stores.

Group turnover rose by 7.4% to N$24.9 billion. Retail turnover, which includes Clicks, UniCare, The Body Shop and Sorbet stores, increased by 5.4%. Comparable store turnover grew by 3.1%.

Distribution turnover rose by 13.0%, supported by a 31.1% increase in revenue from supplier bulk contracts.

Total income increased by 6.5% to N$7.6 billion. Retail margins improved by 70 basis points, driven by growth in private label products.

Distribution margins declined by 50 basis points due to pricing pressure and the loss of two bulk contracts. Overall income margin fell by 30 basis points to 30.7%.

Retail costs increased by 6.1%, reflecting a 7% wage increase and costs linked to a warehouse system upgrade. Distribution costs rose by 6.8% due to continued investment in systems.

Group trading profit increased by 7.4% to N$2.3 billion, with the trading margin steady at 9.1%.

Headline earnings rose by 6.4% to N$1.5 billion. Earnings per share increased by just over 8% to 653 cents, supported by share buybacks.

The group said it expects the consumer environment to remain under pressure due to rising fuel prices and inflation, which may limit household spending.

Clicks plans to open between 40 and 50 new stores and a similar number of pharmacies during the 2026 financial year. It will also test 10 new concept stores in the second half.

The group has set aside N$1.3 billion for capital spending. This includes N$662 million for new stores, pharmacies and refurbishments, and N$594 million for supply chain, IT and infrastructure.

Clicks said it remains on track to reach its target of 1200 stores.

Its pharmaceutical wholesaler, UPD, has acquired a medical consumables business and plans to expand the offering to customers.
