The Erongo Regional Council has welcomed a new leader to its ranks with the appointment of Mupenzeni Ntelamo as the Chief Regional Officer (CRO), effective from December 1st.

Ntelamo’s appointment follows the resignation of the former CRO, Ludmilla Habate Doȅses, in September last year.

In a statement, Benita Imbamba, Chairperson of the Erongo Regional Council, expressed the council’s enthusiasm for this new chapter.

“The entire Erongo Regional Council, management, and staff, are honoured to welcome Mr Ntelamo as the new Chief Regional Officer,” she said.

Imbamba conveyed her confidence in Ntelamo’s leadership abilities and vision for development, emphasizing that the council aims to become the pinnacle of performance and service delivery within the country under his guidance.

She said that Ntelamo brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

Before the latest appointment, he served as the Director (Resident Representative) of the International Planned Parenthood Federation-Sub Regional Office to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a position he held with distinction for an impressive nine years.

Currently, Ntelamo is a PhD candidate in Developmental Studies at the University of South Africa.

Ntelamo’s professional background is a testament to his dedication to public policy, population and development matters, and prudent management. His track record extends beyond national borders, having made a significant impact on the global stage as well. With 15 years of leadership experience at both the national and global levels, Ntelamo’s appointment is poised to be a catalyst for positive change and progress in the Erongo Region.

She said the appointment of Mupenzeni Ntelamo as the Chief Regional Officer signals a renewed commitment to excellence and an unwavering focus on serving the community effectively.

“The Erongo Regional Council and its constituents are looking forward to a future of progress and achievement under his leadership,” she said.
