FirstRand Namibia Limited (NSX: FNB) has announced that its board chairperson, Otto Nakasole Shikongo, has acquired shares in the company worth nearly N$1 million.
The transaction was disclosed in line with the Namibia Stock Exchange (NSX) Listing Requirements.
According to the notice issued by the company, Shikongo purchased 19,955 ordinary par value shares at a price of N$47.11 each.
The total value of the transaction, including levies and commission, was N$945,954.58. The trade was executed on 11 June 2025, with prior clearance obtained as required under NSX regulations.
FirstRand Namibia is one of Namibia’s leading financial institutions and is listed on the NSX under the share code FNB.
The announcement was released by group company secretary Nelago Makemba, with Cirrus Securities (Pty) Ltd acting as sponsor.
In October 2024, the company announced that Shikongo had been appointed as chairperson of the boards of FirstRand Namibia Ltd and First National Bank of Namibia, effective 17 October 2024.
He succeeded Peter Grüttemeyer, who retired from the position on the same date. Before his appointment, Shikongo served as an independent non-executive director and deputy chairperson.
In related corporate developments, Letshego Holdings Namibia Limited informed shareholders that Karl-Stefan Altmann has resigned as chief financial officer and as an executive director, effective 30 June 2025.
Altmann is set to assume a new position within Letshego Africa Holdings Limited. The board has begun the process to find a replacement.
Meanwhile, Paladin Energy Ltd, which owns the Langer Heinrich Mine in the Erongo Region, announced the appointment of Melanie Williams as company secretary, effective 30 May 2025. Williams joined Paladin in February 2025 as chief legal officer.
She brings corporate and resources legal experience, with a background in international and corporate governance.
Jeremy Ryan resigned from the company secretary position on 30 May 2025. Paladin confirmed that Williams will now be responsible for ASX Listing Rule matters and will serve as the main contact for communications with the Australian Securities Exchange.
