Namibia’s key stock indices recorded gains in the week ended 13 February, according to data from the Namibia Securities Exchange (JSE).
The JSE All Share Index closed at 120 584 points, up 533 points or 0.44% from 120 051 points the previous week.
The overall Namibian market index rose 51.43 points, or 2.28%, to 2 305.90. The local index increased by 2.01 points, or 0.25%, to 814.41.
Sector performance was mixed. Basic materials recorded the strongest weekly gain, rising 4.10% to 809.97 points.
Financials increased 1.22% to 751.67, while real estate rose 1.17% to 2,728.50. Consumer staples gained 1.62% to 1 310.88 points.
Consumer discretionary was the only sector to decline, falling 1.52% to 2,651.48 points. Telecommunications and utilities posted small increases of 0.05% and 0.07%, respectively.
Since December 2025, the overall market has grown 7.69%. Basic materials have led year-to-date gains with an increase of 13.21%. The JSE All Share Index has traded between a high of 125,249 and a low of 116,092 points this year.
Dividend yields remain high in some sectors. Telecommunications stands at 10.16%, consumer discretionary at 8.65%, and local shares at 8.50%.
Trading activity increased during the week of 9 to 13 February 2026. A total of 605,183 shares were traded across 76 deals, with a value of N$62.38 million.
This was up by 459 337 shares and N$60.12 million compared to the previous week. Total free float market capitalisation reached N$1.96 billion.
Financials led trading activity, with 465,604 shares traded worth N$57.29 million across 52 deals. Consumer staples followed with 27 998 shares valued at N$2.58 million in eight deals. Real estate recorded 22,472 shares worth N$302 248 in two deals. Telecommunications saw 8 000 shares traded for N$98 560 in one deal.
Basic materials recorded 1 763 shares traded valued at N$1.37 million in five deals. Consumer discretionary had 313 shares traded worth N$17,968 in two deals.
The local market’s free-float market capitalisation stood at N$18.87 billion. A total of 145 846 shares were traded locally, valued at N$2.26 million across 24 deals. Year-to-date local trading shows 842 601 shares worth N$15.09 million across 159 deals.
In the Exchange Traded Products segment, 586,544 shares have been traded this year with a value of N$200.75 million across 39 deals. The Development Capital Board recorded 56,000 shares worth N$1.76 million in three deals.
Across all market segments, year-to-date trading on the NSX totals 10.85 million shares valued at about N$1.002 billion across 679 deals.
