Koryx Copper reports strong drill results at Haib

Koryx Copper Inc has reported encouraging assay results from nine drill holes totalling 4 007 metres at the Haib Copper Project in the south of the country. The drilling forms part of the company’s 2025 Phase 2 and 3 exploration programmes at the wholly owned project.

Haib is an advanced open-pit porphyry copper-molybdenum-gold project. It is expected to produce copper concentrate through conventional crushing, milling and flotation, with potential additional output from heap leaching.

Koryx Copper president and chief executive officer Heye Daun said, “The latest drill results reinforce the strong fundamentals of the Haib Copper Project. We observed consistent grades over wide intercepts, such as 214 metres at 0.34% Cu in HM104, and localised higher-grade zones, including 19 metres at 0.64% Cu in HM102. These results not only confirm the metal consistency but also present opportunities to enhance the grade profile during mine scheduling.”

The company currently operates 12 drill rigs on site. The drilling targets resource conversion, pit wall stability and civil construction geotechnical work ahead of a preliminary feasibility study. An updated mineral resource estimate, which will include gold and molybdenum by-products, is nearing completion.

Koryx said the results support the conversion of material from the inferred to the indicated category. Localised higher-grade zones also provide scope to improve future mine scheduling.

The Phase 2 and 3 programmes focused on extending mineralisation beyond the central core of the deposit. Early results point to continuity of copper mineralisation and localised tonnage growth. The updated mineral resource estimate, which will incorporate gold and molybdenum assays and new geological information, is expected by the end of January 2026.

Koryx continues to expand its drilling footprint while balancing core logging, sampling and access to new drill sites. The company said quality control remains strict, with samples processed at accredited laboratories in South Africa and Canada.

Koryx Copper is a Canadian copper development company advancing the Haib Copper Project while building a portfolio of copper exploration licences in Zambia. Haib is one of only two Paleoproterozoic porphyry copper deposits in southern Africa and has been explored since the 1960s. Current mineral resources stand at 511 million tonnes at 0.33% copper and 51 parts per million molybdenum in the indicated category and 309 million tonnes at 0.31% copper and 40 parts per million molybdenum in the inferred category.
