Man hangs himself with shoelaces

The community of Etayi Constituency was hit with another tragedy after a 50-year-old man, Fillemon Nakashimba from the Ohamuti village committed suicide on Saturday by hanging himself with shoelaces.

This is after 28-year-old Ngenokesho Fikameni committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth last week Thursday.

According to the weekend crime report, Nakashima was found hanging on shoelaces from the roof of his bedroom.

In another incident, the 26-year-old Lukas Nghediimwe from Walvis Bay committed suicide on Friday.

Nampol Spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said he committed suicide by hanging himself with a piece of rope.

“It is alleged that the deceased, who was employed by National Youth Service, hanged himself with a rope from a beam of the roof. No foul play was suspected,” said Shikwambi.

Meanwhile, in Katima Mulilo a 30-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by unknown suspects on Friday morning.

It is alleged that he was found standing next to the road bleeding from his ears, by the members of the Police who were busy patrolling the area.

“The victim was transported to Katima Mulilo State Hospital and was later transferred to Windhoek Central Hospital where he is reported to be in a critical condition,” she said. No arrests were made, and the police investigation continues.
