May Day guarantees mayhem in the capital…as Harry Simon Jr. gets AC debut fight

The capital city will come to a standstill on Saturday, 1 May 2021 when the AC Boxing Promotion hosts the May Day Boxing Bonanza at the Nampower Conventional Hall in Windhoek.

According to the founder of AC Boxing and AC Promotion Imms Moses, the event will be a 7 bout spectacle that will see the youngest professional boxer in Namibian history Shafa “Flame Special One” Nangolo from AC Boxing take on Gustav Petrus from Bulelo Boxing Club from the norther town of Ondangwa in the main bout.

Fan favorite Harry Simon Jr. who confirmed that he recently joined AC Boxing Promotion will be the main supporting bout battling Dominikus Weyulu in a rematch that promises to bring fireworks as Weyulu will be looking to get revenge on Jr. by making up for his defeat in their first fight. Harry Jr. has a record of 13 fights with 13 wins and 0 defeats.

According to Harry, “This rematch will end like the previous one. I will put him on the ground within 4 rounds. I prepared different for this fight because I changed stables and I am back with the coach that I started with initially when I came to Windhoek. You can expect a better, faster and harder hitting version of me because we put in the necessary work.”

In another exciting bout, Mosquito Alfeus from AC Promotions will go pound for pound with Ndaindila from the Chris Juniour Boxing Club in Oniipa.

Imms Moses, who claims to have the youngest and most attractive fighters in Namibia at the moment was positive that his boys will deliver on the night as they have been preparing well the past few months.

“We are ready, the boys are in good shape thanks to my camp. We got some experienced boxers to assist the boys and they had great sparring partners. We even put in some great gym sessions at FitCity with our fitness trainer Martin so they are strong both mentally and physically” said Imms. This was evident as there were some distinguished names on ring side as the team geared up for final preparations. Household names such as former unified light-welterweight world champion Julius Indongo who held the WBA, IBF and IBO titles and undefeated former WBF All Africa Welterweight champion Wilhelm (Cow Boy) Vakufilapo were seen at the SouSa Studio Gym in the CBD, a clear indication that the AC Boxing gym means business.

Special One looked relaxed and is hungry to put up a good show, “I prepared for this fight for about 3 months and I really enjoyed the camp, to my fans I promise to put up a great show, your boy will continue beating up these boys” said the 18 year old who has a record of 5 professional fights with 5 wins with 0 losses.

Shanika (Mosquito) Alfeus encouraged is opponent to be ready and expect nothing but hard blows because he is well prepared. “I have done great conditioning with Coach Martin for the past 3 months, I am feeling good, my movement is on point so he can’t touch me”. The 27-year-old has a record of 3 fights with 3 wins and 0 defeats. Indeed, one to watch out for the future.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the event will be closed for the general public and will only cater to distinguished guess from the corporate world. Boxing lovers and fans can however watch the show from the AC Boxing Promotion accounts on Instagram and Facebook.
