MTC has launched the MTC 4 Life 2026 project to equip young Namibians with practical skills and support for small businesses.

The programme will focus on 30 youth from the ǁKharas Region. It targets self-employed and unemployed people between the ages of 18 and 35.

Participants will receive practical training and basic business support to help them start or grow small businesses.

The training will run for seven days. Participants will learn skills in trades such as hairdressing, barbering, baking, leatherwork, sewing and cell phone repair.

Each trade will train up to five participants or more to allow closer mentorship and skills transfer.

After the training, each participant will receive a starter toolkit linked to their chosen trade. They will also receive a seed grant of N$5 000 to help them start or expand their businesses.

MTC chief brand, marketing, communications and sustainability officer Tim Ekandjo said the programme forms part of the company’s efforts to support national development.

“We aim to invest in initiatives that change lives, empower youth, and contribute to building a Namibia that future generations can be proud of. Programmes like MTC 4 Life are about creating real opportunities and enabling young people to shape their own futures.”

The 2026 programme will start in April and will be implemented with regional partners.

MTC said it will work with stakeholders in the ǁKharas Region to ensure that the selected youth benefit from the training and support.
