Namibia, represented by the Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR), and Germany, through the Inter-Cultural Relations Foundation, have joined forces to strengthen their diplomatic ties.

This collaboration aims to facilitate a skills exchange program that will foster closer relations and shared knowledge between the two nations.

NWR spokesperson Nelson Ashipala disclosed this partnership, emphasizing its significance in enhancing cooperation and knowledge sharing.

He stressed the vital role skill transfer plays in the industry, providing Namibia with an invaluable opportunity to learn from its German counterparts, while Germany gains insights from Namibia’s unique experiences.

“With many interns already actively involved in our camps, this is an opportune moment for them to benefit from the wealth of knowledge shared by this esteemed delegation. This collaboration epitomizes the enduring commitment of both Namibia and Germany to promote international cooperation and intercultural exchange, nurturing mutual understanding and long-lasting relationships. It serves as a testament to the enduring partnership between our nations and our shared vision of progress and collaboration,” Ashipala said.

He further expressed confidence that this partnership would have a positive impact on NWR and the wider community.

He eagerly anticipates strengthening the relationship with Germany, believing it will significantly enhance the skills of their maintenance staff, ultimately contributing to a sustainable and prosperous future.

Meanwhile, NWR announced the arrival of 100 apprentices from the Inter-Cultural Relations Foundation in Germany, set to join the NWR team and bolster maintenance and skill transfer efforts within the hospitality sector.

This partnership embodies the close bonds between the two nations and their shared commitment to fostering cultural exchange and sustainable development.

The German delegation, comprising apprentices with vocational and technical expertise, will be led by Joachim Keferstein.

They are scheduled to arrive in Namibia in three groups, with the first group landing on October 26, 2023. Subsequent groups will follow in November, and the final one is expected to arrive in February 2024.

Ashipala explained that these apprentices will be dispersed across multiple NWR resorts throughout Namibia.

They will contribute their expertise to maintenance operations while benefiting from the experiences and insights of highly skilled local staff.

The Inter-Cultural Relations Foundation, based in Germany, is a renowned organization dedicated to promoting cultural exchange and understanding among nations.

Through various initiatives and partnerships, the foundation facilitates collaboration and learning experiences that bridge cultural gaps and promote international cooperation.
