The Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) held its family wellness day in Lüderitz last Thursday, bringing together residents, partners, and staff for a day focused on health and strengthening community ties.
The event drew strong support from sponsor partners.
Namport thanked its title sponsors and partners, including Manica, Logistics Support Services, the Walvis Bay Corridor Group, Lüderitz Waterfront Development Company, NAMMED, the BUCHT community and several service providers for helping bring the event to life.
The day offered activities for all ages and encouraged wellness and family bonding.
After its board meeting at the Lüderitz Waterfront conference facilities, the Namport board of directors visited the Namibia Maritime Museum. The museum said it was an honour to host the delegation, and it highlighted the longstanding partnership between the two entities.
The museum features Namport in a dedicated section, outlining its role in the development of Namibia’s maritime and port sectors.
“We sincerely appreciate Namport’s continued support and collaboration. Together, we strengthen maritime education, awareness, and national pride. This visit reaffirms our shared commitment to celebrating the forces that have shaped our coast,” the museum stated.
Namport’s manager of marketing and stakeholder engagement, Cliff Shikwambi, said the visit allowed the board to engage with the museum’s artefacts and exhibitions, including the section dedicated to Namport’s role in shaping the port system.
He said the engagement reinforced Namport’s commitment to supporting institutions that preserve national maritime heritage and promote public understanding of the strategic value of the country’s ports.
He added that the Community Wellness Family Day united residents, partners and staff around health and connections. “Thank you, Lüderitz, for showing up and embracing the spirit of wellness,” Shikwambi said.
