More than 260 small business owners in Namibia have completed financial management training aimed at helping them grow and sustain their businesses.

The training, supported by Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), focused on practical skills such as cash flow management, budgeting and record-keeping.

According to the programme, 145 women, 96 youth and 26 people living with disabilities were among those trained.

Coca-Cola’s public affairs, communication and sustainability director in Namibia Ockert Jansen said the initiative is part of the company’s broader effort to support local communities and entrepreneurs.

“At CCBA in Namibia, we focus on making a real impact in the communities where we operate, as part of our broader sustainability strategy,” he said.

He added that the programme aligns with Namibia’s national development priorities, particularly around youth empowerment.

“Our efforts align closely with Namibia’s national development plans and the government’s key priorities, including youth empowerment,” Jansen said.

The Central Commerce Group facilitated the training through its Youth Capacity Building Programme, which collaborates with grassroots entrepreneurs.

All participants are part of CCBA’s value chain, reinforcing the company’s approach of supporting businesses it works with directly.

“For CCBA, partnering with our customers means understanding and prioritising the needs of retailers and consumers by delivering value beyond just selling beverages,” Jansen said.

He said the company aims to support small businesses not only through products, but also through skills development, insights and tailored support.

“It’s also about delivering value beyond the product… helping customers to grow their businesses through insights, promotions, and tailored support,” he said.

CCBA operates in 14 African countries and serves more than 840 000 customers across the continent.
