Hamukwaya denies favouring Enercon in Namcor deals

Justicia Shipena  Former National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) executive Jennifer Hamukwaya has told the High Court that fuel supplier Enercon did not receive special treatment during her time at the company. She made the statement this week in her heads of argument as she and her co-accused appeal a magistrate’s decision to deny her bail. She was denied bail in September last year. Allexer Namundjembo Nomad Aviation (Pty) Ltd, trading as Bay Air and based in Walvis Bay, has applied for amendments to its aerial works, non-scheduled and scheduled air services licences.  The applications were published in a government gazette dated 16 January 2026. Chamwe Kaira Namibia exported goods worth N$5.4 billion to the African continent in November, while imports from Africa amounted to N$6.7 billion.  This resulted in a trade deficit of N$1.3 billion and total trade of N$12.1 billion for the month. A comparison of Namibia’s trade with Africa and the rest of the world shows that intra-Africa exports accounted for 54.2% of total exports. Imports from Africa represented 46.7% of total imports.
