Paratus Namibia Holdings Limited expects mixed results for the year ended 30 June 2025, with higher revenue but a sharp decline in earnings.
In a trading statement on the Namibia Stock Exchange (NSX), the telecoms and infrastructure group said revenue is set to rise between 10% and 30% compared to the previous year.
However, the company projects a fall of more than 30% in headline earnings per share (HEPS) and basic earnings per share (BEPS).
Paratus also predicts a substantial drop in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA), with a range of 10% to 30%.
The company linked the HEPS and BEPS decline mainly to the higher weighted average number of shares in issue after its June 2024 rights issue.
Proceeds from that raise are still being invested in revenue-generating infrastructure projects.
Paratus said the lower EBITDA reflects higher operating costs tied to the rollout of its mobile business, which launched on 2 September 2025.
The group expects revenue to improve as more customers connect to its expanded mobile network. Unaudited annual results will be published on 30 September.
In early September, Paratus launched the first private mobile network in Namibia with LTE and 5G technologies, a move aimed at challenging the dominant state-owned companies.
Paratus said it has invested N$1.41 billion in network infrastructure since 2018, including N$600 million in the past year on the new mobile network.
One third of this went into building a digital technology stack to integrate all Paratus services into a single customer platform.
Paratus Group CEO Schalk Erasmus said, “Connectivity is the backbone of economic growth. Launching Namibia’s first private mobile network is a deliberate step in our mission to transform Africa’s digital landscape. By offering transparent, affordable services, we’re removing barriers and empowering more people to participate in the digital economy. This is also integral to the overriding Paratus passion, purpose and people ethos that we embrace in our culture and expansion plans.”
Paratus said it has evolved from a connectivity provider to a digital lifestyle enabler.
With Voice (VoLTE), Wi-Fi calling, and fast digital activation, the new mobile service provides a complete connectivity ecosystem that includes advanced LTE and 5G capabilities, fibre, Sky-Fi wireless connections, and integrated solutions for mobile, home, and business users.
