Pepkor Holdings Limited, which owns several Namibian retail brands, including PEP, Ackermans, Shoe City, Dunns, Tekkie Town, Refinery, Bradlows, Sleepmasters, Incredible Connection, HiFi Corp, and BUCO, has announced a 12% rise in revenue to N$95.3 billion for the year ended 30 September 2025.

The group said its retail operations outperformed the broader market, driven by strong trading in a difficult economic environment. It noted that its business model, focused on meeting customer needs, continues to show resilience. Pepkor said it expanded its market share based on the latest available data.

The company reported strong growth in fintech through the expansion of financial services and mobile connectivity. Its Flash business maintained momentum by leveraging its presence in the informal market.

Revenue from clothing and general merchandise grew by 8.9% to N$66.9 billion, while the furniture, appliances, and electronics segment rose by 7.2% to N$11.8 billion. The fintech segment increased revenue by 31.1% to N$16.6 billion.

Pepkor said it expects a reasonable degree of certainty that its headline earnings per share and earnings per share for the year will improve compared to the previous period.

In 2024, the company recorded a non-cash impairment of goodwill and intangibles due to uncertain retail trading, particularly in Ackermans, which is still recovering, and challenges in the footwear market affecting Tekkie Town and Shoe City.

In 2024, the group sold The Building Company (TBCo) as part of its discontinued operations. The sale enabled Pepkor to exit the building materials market, streamline its portfolio, and improve returns for shareholders.

In May, the Namibian Competition Commission approved Pep Stores Namibia’s acquisition of Big Daddy Clothing, which operates 24 stores across the country.
