Proflight Zambia has completed the International Air Transport Association Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and is now listed on the IOSA registry, strengthening its safety credentials and readiness for international operations. The airline said it is now an IATA member.

Ahead of its launch, the airline has appointed AirlinePros International as its general sales agent in Namibia to support sales development, market outreach and customer service.

The Windhoek service is scheduled to start on 3 March 2026 and will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Flights will depart Lusaka at 08h30, stop briefly in Livingstone, where passengers will remain on board, and arrive in Windhoek at 11h35. Return flights will depart Windhoek at 12h20.

“We are encouraging early reservations, especially for Easter and summer holidays, due to limited seat availability during peak periods. We have already appointed AirlinePros in Namibia as a proactive step to engage the travel trade and strengthen relationships with agents, ensuring confidence in selling the route. Market sentiment indicates excitement about the direct air access between Zambia and Namibia, with Proflight Zambia being the only carrier on this route,” the company said.

The airline expects the Windhoek route to support tourism, business and family travel by offering more direct and convenient connections between Namibia and Zambia.

It said likely passengers include business travellers and tourists visiting destinations such as Victoria Falls, South Luangwa National Park and Namibia’s cultural and modern attractions.

Proflight anticipates the use of the route by family and diaspora travellers who are visiting relatives and maintaining cross-border ties.

“The mix of leisure, business, and family travel reflects the dual tourism and economic appeal of the route,” the airline said.

Beyond Windhoek, the airline will introduce a seasonal service to Maun in Botswana from 1 May to 31 October 2026, operating three times a week.

Proflight already operates regional flights to Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa, along with domestic services to Kalumbila, Kasama, Livingstone, Mansa, Mfuwe, Ndola, and Solwezi, as well as seasonal safari flights to Jeki and Royal airstrips in the Lower Zambezi National Park.

“Proflight Zambia is Zambia’s only IATA IOSA-registered airline, a distinction that highlights its commitment to safety and operational excellence. The IOSA milestone enhances market credibility and passenger confidence, positioning Proflight Zambia as a trusted regional carrier. The airline’s expansion strategy is aligned with Southern Africa’s growing tourism landscape, offering travellers a rich mix of adventure, culture, and comfort,” the company said.
