The estate of the late founding president, Sam Nujoma, is still being finalised.
Nujoma’s executor revealed this on Sunday in response to an online article, calling it false and fraudulent.
In a statement issued on 7 December 2025, lawyer Sisa Namandje said he was alerted by the Nujoma family to an online publication titled “The Hidden Legacy of Sam Nujoma”.
The article falsely claimed that Nujoma had endorsed an investment scheme called “Nujoma Capital”.
The article alleges that Nujoma gave an interview before his death promoting a platform promising users earnings of up to N$15,000 per day and about N$400,000 per month. Namandje said none of these claims were true.
“The article is false and fraudulent in its entirety. Dr Nujoma was never linked to such an investment platform, and his estate has no link to such a fraudulent platform,” he said.
Namandje cautioned the public against falling for online schemes that use the Founding President’s name to entice victims.
He said scammers were exploiting the legacy of a leader who contributed to Namibia’s independence and economic development.
He also warned that anyone misusing Nujoma’s name or image for fraudulent gain would face legal action.
“I caution that legal action will be taken against any individual who seeks to use the iconic name of the late Dr Sam Nujoma in any fraudulent schemes and activities,” he stated.
Namandje urged the public to allow the estate to be handled in a manner that reflects the honesty, integrity, and dedication to Namibia that Dr Nujoma demonstrated throughout his life.
Nujoma died in February.
