Tafel Lager Brave Warriors Gear Up for AFCON 2024

Windhoek, Namibia – Tafel Lager Brave Warriors, have kicked off their preparations for the upcoming AFCON 2024 in earnest. A preliminary squad of 34 players has been called up for a rigorous 3-day assessment training camp, which commenced on Monday, December 18, 2023.

The coaching staff, led by head coach Collin Benjamin, will meticulously evaluate the players’ performance, fitness, and teamwork during the camp. The squad will later be trimmed down to a final roster of 27 players before the team embarks on their journey to the official AFCON 2024 training camp.

Namibia finds itself in Group E alongside formidable opponents Tunisia, Mali, and South Africa. The stakes are high as the top teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage of the tournament.

The AFCON 2024 tournament boasts an exciting lineup of teams, with Group A hosting hosts Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau. Group B features Egypt, Ghana, Cape Verde, and Mozambique, while defending champions Senegal headline Group C alongside five-time winners Cameroon, Guinea, and the Gambia.

Group D consists of Algeria, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, and Angola, setting the stage for intense clashes. Group F, comprising Morocco, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, and Tanzania, completes the diverse lineup of nations vying for continental glory.

AFCON 2024 final is set for February 11, marking the climax of an exhilarating tournament. The top two teams from each group, along with the four highest-ranked third-placed teams, will qualify for the knockout stage.
