Trade Ministry launches micro-business simulation training

The Ministry of Industrialization and Trade in partnership with the German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation yesterday kicked off its micro business simulation trainings.

Trade Minister, Lucia Iipumbu in her speech said that the training is aimed at helping entrepreneurs to manage their businesses successfully.

“The training will focus mainly on financial management aspects such as business planning, forecasting, record keeping, budgeting, and financial statements to enable entrepreneurs to get the know-how of business financial,”Iipumbu said.

She added that the partnership further aims to enhance entrepreneurship development and deliver entrepreneurial training interventions.

The participants to be trained through this partnership program include registered and non-registered micro, small and medium enterprises.

“This is simply to allow growth within the business world, by allowing the participants to learn from each other and the importance and benefits of teamwork which will lead to business stability in the country,” the Minister said.

The training further focuses on financial management aspects such as business planning, forecasting, record keeping, budgeting, and financial statements to enable entrepreneurs to manage their financial businesses, Iipumbu stressed.

The training will bring transformational change in unleashing the potential growth of micro, small and medium enterprises in Namibia, Iipumbu added.

Iipumbu said the potential growth can be only achieved through the practice of entrepreneurial behaviour modification and mindset change, skills development, and the provision of a comprehensive range of business development advisory services.

Iipumbu further indicated that the training will take part in all 14 regions across the country and is expected to bring positive results by July 2023.

“I am confident that this training will improve the livelihood of micro, small and medium enterprises across the country in all 14 regions, reaching 1400 of the said enterprises by July 2023,” she said.

The German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation is a development policy and arm of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe whose mission and objective is universal financial access worldwide through the Ministry’s program.
