Spokesperson of Omusati Police, Inspector Anna Kunga, says two men have been arrested after they allegedly killed a security guard in a robbery involving a cash-in-transit vehicle at Okalongo.
According to Kunga, another suspect is on the run. The police initially reported that four suspects were involved. Kunga says the incident happened this morning around ten am at Onandjaba settlement.
“The suspects attacked the security company car and one security guard was fatally shot. He died on the spot. The suspects took three pistols with them and we are urging public members, especially those around Okando and Oshikuku, to assist us in tracing the suspects,”Kunga said initially.
Suspects are expected to be slapped with murder and other charges and will possibly appear in court tomorrow. Kunga says the police is yet to establish whether or not the security company vehicle had money in it. The deceased next of kin have yet to be informed.
