CONTRACT NULIFIED:

The High Court on Friday nullified the Central Procurement Board of Namibia’s (CPBN) decision to award a N$1.3 billion pharmaceutical supply tender to Cospharm Investment Pty Ltd. The court also nullified the Review Board’s decision to award the tender.
Businessman Shapwa Kanyama, through his company, Africure Pharmaceutical, took Cospharm, CPBN, and other bidders to court last year.
Cospharm’s majority shareholder is a five-year-old child, while the father, Cosmas Mukaratirwa, owns 49%. The company was to supply pharmaceuticals used in cancer treatment and psychological disorders for two years.
The court ordered Cospharm and CPBN to cover the applicant’s legal costs jointly.
