THE three men who yesterday shot at a security van delivering money to the Nedbank branch at Katutura’s Black Chain stole N$1.3 million.

This was confirmed by Nampol spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, who said that the suspects ambushed security guards out of nowhere when they arrived at the bank with the money.

The suspects allegedly fired shots at the van just after one of the security guards offloaded two cases containing the money. It is reported that one of the bullets fired hit another stationary vehicle, the bank’s wall and the bank’s entry glass doors. Police say no one was injured.

A white VW Polo was used as a getaway vehicle. The unknown suspects are still on the run. The trio wore balaclavas.
