The Erongo Regional Council recently announced the plans to develop the holiday settlement that is situated near the only desalination plant in Namibia, by stating that an environmental impact study has been launched. The Orano desalination plant was originally constructed to supply uranium mines to the east of Swakopmund with fresh water. Suspected drug dealer dies after swallowing mandrax

Niël Terblanché A 39-year-old man along with a second suspect, who was caught in possession of cannabis died after arriving at the Rehoboth Police Station on Friday morning. According to the incident report provided by the Public Relations division of the Namibian Police, the two men were accosted at the premises of the JT Supermarket in Rehoboth. The suspects were found in possession of 16 small packets of cannabis and were arrested. Transport company renovates police facilities
