15 000 pensioners medical aid cut off

Eba Kandovazu A TOTAL 15 162 retired pensioners will no longer have access to the Public Service Employees Medical Aid Scheme (PSEMAS) benefits following its after they failed to contribute to the fund and re-apply for medical aid at retirement. Ministry of Finance Spokesperson, Tonateni Shidhudhu, has announced saying PSEMAS membership verification project revealed the non-contribution. Kandjemuni Kamuiiri The restrictions on travel due to COVID-19 have saved government N$105.7 million in travel allowances. According to Ministry of Finance Spokesperson, Tonateni Shidhudhu, a 34.06 percent cost saving was achieved in 2020/2021 compared to the last financial year’s (2019/2020) expenditure. He added that a 56.81 percent saving had been achieved for the Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) compared to the last financial year. Helena Johannes The Ministry of Finance has extended the submission deadline for annual individual income tax returns from 30 September to 1 March 2021.
