Two arrested on illicit drug charges

Two men were arrested in Walvis Bay on charges related to dealing in illicit drugs, over the weekend. According to the arrest report provided by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police, the first suspect, a 23-year-old man, was arrested in the Kuisebmond neighbourhood when he was found with 256 grams of cannabis. The cannabis was of the Skunk variety and had an estimated value of N$12 800. The suspect was walking along Kaino Nendongo Street when police officers apprehended him. Government flirts with legalising cannabis…as PM’s office chairs taskforce

Andrew Kathindi The Ministry of Health and Social Services has begun consultations on the regulation and controlled use of cannabis, in anticipation of its possible legalization. This comes as according to the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) 33 countries in the world have permitted the cultivation of cannabis for medical and research purposes.
