Martin Endjala SWAPO Party spokesperson, Hilma Nicanor, is saying all delegates elected at districts are eligible to vote in terms of the party’s Article 11. She clarifies this explaining that the party rules are clear who must be a delegate. Nicanor further advises that the party is simply honouring its rules which must be followed by all party members. This comes after leaked information about ineligible delegates having been removed from the congress voting list. The ruling party did not perform at last week’s polls as it may have expected. Swapo did not ‘lose’. It still maintains a simple majority, though ground was lost. There is no need for panic within the party faithful.
