Telecom appoints new CEO

Staff Writer Former Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (Cran) Chief Executive Officer, Stanley Shanapinda has been appointed as the new CEO of Telecom Namibia. His appointment will be effective from January 2021. “The Telecom Board of Directors have concluded the consultation with the NPTH Board (Namibia Post and Telecommunication Holdings) and have received endorsement from the shareholder to proceed with the formalities of appointing the successful candidate,” Chairperson of the Telecom Namibia Board, Jerry Muadinohamba said. Telecom receives 72 CEO applications

Staff Writer Telecom Namibia says it has received 72 applications for its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position which has been vacant following the exit of Theo Klein. According to the government-owned telecoms operator, 13 of the applicants are female and 59 are male. “The board intends to have the recruitment and selection process concluded by end of September 2020, at which stage we hope to have identified a suitable qualified candidate to assume the role,” Telecom Board Chairperson, Jerry Muadinohamba said. Telecom’s millions still stuck in Angola

Telecom then led by Frans Ndoroma, announced in 2004 that it had acquired a 44 percent stake in Angola’s Mundo Startel worth US$14 million (N$91 million at the time), in a bid to break into the Angolan market.
