The managing director of Erongo Marine Enterprises (EME), Martha Uumati has parted ways by mutual agreement.
Uumati was suspended from her positions as managing director and board member of Erongo Marine Enterprises on 13 February by Oceana’s chief executive officer, Neville Brink and the managing director of Blue Continent Product, Ina Botha.
A disciplinary hearing was scheduled for 11 and 12 April but did not take place as the parties opted to negotiate a separation package.
The separation was confirmed by one of the Namibian right holders who requested anonymity at this stage.
“Many things are going on but we received a message from Ina Botha that Martha Uumati has resigned and that Oceana wants the internal process to be concluded and then start engaging us again,” said the right holder.
Uumati confirmed that the mutual separation agreement will be effective from 15 April.
“I did not resign, it’s a mutual separation agreement. I cannot comment on
the details or terms of the agreement,” she said.
Uumati and EME sales manager Kuda Hartzenberg, who were the only Namibian on the company’s board, resigned from the board in March.
“Erongo Marine Enterprises confirm that Ms Hartzenberg’s resignation was of her own accord, and we wish her well in her future endeavours,” said the company spokesperson Francois van der Merwe.
