Rosh Pinah Solar Park will generate 5,4 MW

The proposed Rosh Pinah Solar Park (RPSP) will generate 5,4 MW for the operational energy requirements of Rosh Pinah Zinc Corporation (RPZC). RPZC is in the process of expanding its operations and will require additional supplies of electricity. The establishment of Rosh Pinah Solar Park is expected to reduce the cost of energy to run the mine, diversify its sources of energy and improve its sustainability. RPSP is owned and will be managed by two Namibian entities, Otesa Energy Projects, the majority shareholder, and Emesco Energy (Namibia). Stefanus Nashama The Chairperson of the National Council, Lukas Sinimbo Muha yesterday stated that the National Council financial allocation for Standing Committees has been increased by about 133 percent He said the increase from N$300 000 to N$400 000 in the 2022/2023 financial year to N$700 000 to N$900 000 in the 2023/2024 financial year, amounts to more than 130 percent. One of Namibia’s green energy prospects, Hyphen Hydrogen Energy has signed non-binding Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two major industrial companies with the aim of Hyphen providing them with up to 750 000 tonnes of green ammonia annually. The agreements with a major chemical company and Approtium, a South Korean hydrogen producer, are targeting offtake of up to 500,000 tonnes and 250 000 tonnes a year respectively.
