President Nangolo Mbumba on Tuesday conveyed a message of condolence to the Republic of Iran, following the death of President Ebrahim Raisi. President Raisi passed away last Sunday as a result of a helicopter crash. "Words rarely suffice in comforting a nation when it has lost a leader. MINOR ACCUSED OF RAPE

 A 14-year-old boy from the Oshitundu village near Oshikuku is facing arrest after a social worker discovered that he repeatedly raped his nine-year-old sister. Tresia Iiyambo, a social worker, registered the case with the Namibian Police in Oshikuku after she found out that the boy committed the crime of rape and incest on several occasions between February and May this year. Kauandenge abandons presidential contest

The National Unity Democratic Organisation’s (NUDO) Secretary General, Joseph Kauandenge has decided to withdraw from the party’s internal presidential race. NUDO Parliamentary Executive Secretary, Kavetjiko Zaongara announced on Tuesday that Kauandenge will not contest for any position at the party’s elective congress slated for 13 July 2024. “After further reflection, he has decided to withdraw his candidacy to run for the presidential position, and neither will he run for any other positions at the upcoming elective congress. Residents of Swakopmund have been warned to refrain from disposing of hot coals and ashes in regular refuse bins, as improper disposal of such materials poses significant risks.The warning came after a large cloud of black smoke was seen billowing over the coastal town, sparking concern among residents.
