Muharukua wants subsidies for Omahenene crop farmers

Martin Endjala Popular Democratic Movement MP Vipuakuje Muharukua has called for 40 percent subsidy for communal crop farming to villages along the Omahenene water canal both in the Omusati and parts of Oshana regions to make them resilient against the harsh weather patterns the northern regions often face. The MP is of the view that these villages have the ability to become food self-sustainable if production subsidies are granted and will improve their livelihoods of people in the affected areas. Man arrested for continuously raping niece

Eba Kandovazu THE police in Outapi last Friday arrested a 27-year-old man after he allegedly raped his 12-year-old niece on numerous occasions. According to Nampol Spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, the suspect was arrested at Onhofi village. In another incident, a 41-year-old man was arrested last Friday for reportedly raping and assaulting his girlfriend at Okeruru village in the Aminuis constituency. Meanwhile, a man, aged 31 is receiving medical attention at the Katutura State Hospital after he was stabbed in the stomach by a 17-year-old man at a farm near Outjo.
